PublicisSpiceJet, one of India's most preferred low-cost airlines, has appointed Publicis Communications as its new creative agency. Publicis emerged a winner in a multi-agency pitch process which was carried out in Delhi and was contested by several top creative agencies.

Since the return of Ajay Singh, the original founder and co-promoter, the airline has been on an aggressive mission to rebuild its brand and assume a new image. Bringing Publicis on-board follows close on the heels of SpiceJet's complete brand makeover exercise including a logo change.  The rebranding exercise undertaken by the airline was also an integral part of its 10-year celebrations.

Besides the agency's creative inputs, its well-cut strategy and understanding required for engineering the turnaround of a brand as strong as SpiceJet, helped it clinch the win.

Debojo Maharishi, CMO of SpiceJet, said, “It was a tough choice, we saw some very good presentations but PUBLICIS's strategy was in complete sync with our brand objective. In our interaction with the team we were impressed with the talent and were keen to partner with them.”

SpiceJet has nurtured its brand philosophy of being different. Through its innovative and creative strategies the airline has always strived to make flying exciting and with the new agency coming on board, the airline is now all set to woo its customers with renewed zeal.
