Having regained the No. 1 spot in the previous week, Star Plus extended its lead at the top in Week 39 (September 26-October 2) of BARC ratings.

According to select data (HSM : NCCS All : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), Star Plus continued to lead the table with a gross viewership of 425 million in Week 39, compared to 409 million in the previous week.

Colors gained in viewership as its tally for Week 39 rose to 393 million from gross viewership of 380 million in the previous week.

Zee TV struggled in the third spot this week, witnessing a drop of 36 million viewership to garner gross viewership of 239 million in Week 39.

This slide in viewership saw Life OK snapping at the heels of Zee TV with a gross viewership of 233 million in Week 39. Life OK's viewership stood at 237 million in the previous week.

SAB TV was placed fifth with a gross viewership of 181 million.

Top 5 shows

As far as the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs were concerned, Star Plus' 'Saat Nibhana Saathiya' continued to be the top rated show with a viewership of 7,192 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya', too, held on to its second spot with a viewership of 6,573 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Colors' show 'Swaragini' rose to the third spot with a viewership of 6,172 (ratings in sum of 000s), pushing down its other show, 'Sasural Simar Ka', to the fourth spot with a viewership of 5,988 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Star Plus' 'Diya aur Baati' completed the top five shows with a viewership of 5,923 (ratings in sum of 000s).

English entertainment

In the English entertainment space, Zee Café regained its No. 1 spot after losing out to Comedy Central in the previous week.

According to select data (6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), Zee Café was back at the top spot despite losing viewership. The channel garnered viewership of 165 (ratings in sum of 000s), compared to 189 (ratings in sum of 000s) in Week 38.

Comedy Central slid to the second spot as it registered a steep fall in viewership this week from 282 (ratings in sum of 000s) in Week 38 to 96 (ratings in sum of 000s) this week.

Star World returned to the top 3 and was placed third with a viewership of 87 (ratings in sum of 000s).
