Week 32 (August 8-August 14) of BARC ratings saw some intriguing developments across the news and movie genres with little change in the table across these segments.

As per select data (All India : NCCS AB : Males 22+ : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+) for English news genre, Times Now remained unchallenged at the top, but saw a drop of over 200 TVTS from last week (599 TVT) to register 374 TVT this week.

India Today Television lost 39 TVTs from last week, but stayed second with 162 TVT. NDTV 24x7 lost 10 TVTs and is snapping at the heels of India Today Television with 158 TVT.

The competition is really intense in the Hindi news genre with not much TVTs separating the top 3 channels. According to select data (HSM : NCCS All : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), AajTak stayed at No. 1 despite losing over 5000 TVTs. The news channel garnered 37841 TVT in Week 32. India TV (35780 TVT) lost over 4000 TVT, thereby losing the second spot to ABP News, which garnered 36512 TVT.

After witnessing dramatic dip in their ratings last week, both CNBC TV18 and ET Now saw gains of over 50 TVTs in Week 32 of the BARC ratings.  According to select data (All India : NCCS AB : Males 22+ : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), CNBC TV18 topped the table among English Business News channels again with 242 TVT, while ET Now fetched 165 TVT. NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime remained a distant third with 44 TVT.

Meanwhile, in the Hindi Business News segment, CNBC Awaaz topped the charts with 1079 TVT, and Zee Business was placed second with 669 TVT (HSM : NCCS AB : Males 22+ : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+).

In the Hindi movies genre, Star Gold ended Sony Max's reign at the top in Week 32. As per select data (HSM : NCCS All : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), Star Gold topped the table with 198404 TVT.

Sony Max wasn't too far behind as it pocketed 195769 TVT. Zee Cinema was placed third with 191577 TVT.

Meanwhile, in the English movies segment (HSM : NCCS All : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), Movies Now continued its long reign at the top, garnering 3554 TVT.

HBO, despite not having content in the top 5, made it to the second spot with 2218 TVT. Star Movies was third with 1936 TVT. HBO's rise meant that Zee Studio dropped out of the top 3.

In select data (6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : Week 32: Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+) for English Entertainment genre, Zee Café remained unchallenged with 132 TVT. Meanwhile, Star World is closing on AXN (101 TVT) by bagging 96 TVT.

Finally, there was slight change in the order for Music channels. As per select data (All India : NCCS All : Week 32 : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+), Mastiii topped the table again with 33300 TVT. MTV rose to No. 2 with 27744 TVT and 9XM (26004 TVT) jumped to the third position, displacing its sister channel 9X Jalwa.
