DDB Mudra Group and Thailand-based media communications group, Chuo Senko Group, have officially formalised their exit from the joint venture formed in 2013. The decision to part ways was mutually taken by the two entities earlier this year.

As is known, Chuo Senko Group forayed into India in January 2013 through a joint venture formed with DDB Mudra Group, christened Chuo Senko Advertising India. At that time, Chuo Senko had invested Rs 5 million for its equity stake in ChuoSenko India.

Chuo Senko Advertising India started operations in the first half of 2013 as a full-service advertising agency. From mid-2014, the agency started hiring for the team and had won accounts like Daikin Air-conditioning India, Panasonic India, Triumph Motorbikes, Woolmark and the Korean Cultural Centre India (part of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea).

Post the split, Chuo Senko is now investing aggressively in expanding capabilities and additional capacity in Chuo Senko Advertising India. In a press note issued, the agency said, “We expect 2015 to be our best year yet and 2016 to be many times better. It takes time to find the right mix of people, product and place, and it is a very exciting time for us as we get closer to that sweet spot each day.”

Chuo Senko started out in Tokyo in 1953. The group's Bangkok office, listed on the Thai Stock Exchange, celebrated its 50th anniversary two years ago. The group now has offices across the region in Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippians, Myanmar, Cambodia, and India. In Thailand, the agency has been working with Honda Motorcycles, developing their mainline and below-the-line advertising including their retail development, for over 50 years now. The group has also been associated with Hitachi, Ajinomoto, a Japanese food conglomerate, and Mandom, makers of Gatsby personal care products, for over 10 years.
