Navin Talreja, President - Ogilvy Mumbai and Kolkata, and Kawal Shoor, National Planning Director, Ogilvy India, have put in their papers. Kunal Jeswani, Chief Executive Officer, Ogilvy India, has confirmed the developments.

Talreja and Shoor, when contacted, did not reveal their future plans beyond saying that they are moving on.

When contacted, Jeswani told BestMediaInfo.com, “Both Navin and Kawal have had great journeys at Ogilvy. They have helped shape our company and have been an integral part of our success. They are, and always will be, part of the Ogilvy family. We celebrate and applaud them for what they have achieved, and we wish them success in everything they do.”

Elaborating on the way forward, Jeswani said, “Change is inevitable. It keeps us sharp and makes us stronger. The transition is being worked out and should be completed in a month. We believe in grooming leaders from within. And we believe we have the width and depth of talent across Ogilvy to be able to do it. This may take some time but we will do it well.”

For now, to ensure there are no immediate leadership gaps, Jeswani will be taking on the leadership of Mumbai office. Hephzibah Pathak, with her experience in Mumbai, will oversee all global client relationships as part of her role as Global Brand Director across all offices in India. Madhukar Sabnavis, Vice-Chairman, will step in to support the National Planning and Thought Leadership agenda.

“Ogilvy Mumbai is blessed with a wealth of talent. B Ramanathan (Managing Partner, Mumbai), Prem Narayan (Head of Planning, Mumbai), the strong frontline of wonderful Account Management, Planning and Creative Leaders in Mumbai, and our discipline leaders in OgilvyOne, Ogilvy PR and Geometry Global will all continue to make this office shine,” Jeswani added.

Talreja has been in his current role since August 2012, prior to which he was Managing Partner at the agency since April 2010. Before joining Ogilvy for his second stint in April 2008, he had a short stint as the marketing head for Yes Bank.

Shoor joined Ogilvy in 2004, and was promoted as National Planning Director in January 2015. Prior to that, he headed planning for Ogilvy Mumbai.
