Colors is foraying into a new genre, and this time it is the much loved Anupam Kher in the host's seat. Kher, making a comeback on the small-screen after over a decade (since his show 'Say na something to Anupam Uncle'), is also donning the producer's hat this time.

'The Anupam Kher Show - Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai' will be a weekly show, aired on Sundays at 8 PM. The show which starts on July 6, 2014, will have 12 episodes in the first season with a variety of guests from the film fraternity.

"Unlike the regular chat shows and interviews, this one will be more about the journey. I had once asked Anupam about his play 'Kucch bhi ho sakta hai' and whether we should air it on television once. But he had declined because then who would come to watch the actual play? Six months back he came to me with this idea. And when I asked what will be different, he said that it will be the most natural show, with no gimmicks and no controversies," explained Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors.

The battle of 'aam' to 'khaas' or from commoner to a celebrity is often plagued with hardships and life lessons. Kher plans to find out these things from the journey to stardom of several celebrities. The first season will include actors and actresses like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Mahesh and Alia Bhatt, Varun and David Dhawan, Nasseruddin Shah, Om Puri and Sonam Kapoor, among others. It will also have Yuvraj Singh sharing his experiences off the pitch, as well as mark popular comedian Kapil Sharma's first talk show interview.

"Having experienced the bitter-sweet sides of life first hand, I was looking for an outlet to share stories of self-motivation with audiences to tell them that they are not alone. During the show, viewers will get an insight that nothing is impossible if you believe," said Anupam Kher, Producer, Actors Prepares Production.

The idea for the show had been with Kher for the last 12 years. The concept came to him because he is a firm believer than anything can happen in this world. And such life altering situation's in anyone's life is what will make the show a warm and receptive watch for the entire family.

"This show is all about identification, getting to know a different aspect of every person. Therefore, other than doing the regular print, television, outdoor campaigns, this time we are also releasing an application on FB that talks about which real self are you? Are you hiding behind a mask? Five or seven different aspects will be looked at in this. Also, on the day of the launch, Anupam Kher will be actually interacting with viewers for an hour or so to share their personal stories. A lot of things on digital will obviously be planned, because it is about conversation," said Vivek Srivastava, Head – Commercial and Digital, Colors.

The show is being produced by Anupam Kher under his production house 'Actor Prepares Production'. While it is being powered by Henko, the channel is confident that the response has been great from the sponsorship side.
