What can be done when half the population of the country worships cricket while a growing number of readers and sports enthusiasts are waking up to other sports? The world around is celebrating FIFA World Cup. Kids in colleges are following tennis and basketball. Keeping all this in mind, Cricket Today has just been converted into India's first two-in-one sports magazine - Sports Plus.

The magazine is unique not just because of its content division – 50 per cent cricket and 50 per cent other sports – but also for its design. It will have two covers – one will have cricket, and the other which is usually known as the back cover will have a different sport in the limelight. The second section of the magazine - or Sports Plus - can be read by flipping through from the back.

The truth about the industry is that people want to read about more than just cricket. While cricket has often been called a religion in this country, the youth are now more interested in learning about other sports as well. Digital media has brought global sporting phenomena's to our living rooms. Therefore, there is a need for a magazine which talks about boxing, wrestling, shooting, badminton, etc., along with cricket.

Along with that is the fact that with cricket becoming an expensive advertising property, brands want to explore other options so that they can be presented in an uncluttered environment.
