Star Plus continues to rule weekday programming with 7 shows in the top 10 followed by Zee TV with two and SAB with one show in Week 16 of TAM 2014

In the opening week of IPL 7, Star Plus and Zee TV grew on their weekend programming with Star Plus breaking all records by fetching the highest ratings ever achieved by any television channel in India. Not only this, Star Plus' 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' scaled a new high at 14.5 TVM which is the highest ever viewership for any fiction programme.

Sony Max and Sony Six together saw an increase of 252 Gross TVMs on account of IPL.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 16 of TAM 2014 (April 13 – April 19) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to rule weekday programming with seven of its shows in the top 10 list followed by Zee TV with two and SAB with one show.

Colors continued to rule weekend programming with 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' at the top followed by 'Khatron Ke Khilad'i.

The world television premiere of Salman Khan starrer 'Jai Ho' on Star Plus fetched 7.9 TVM. FBB Femina Miss India event on Colors rated 2.8 TVM over two hours.

Among new shows launched this week, Zee TV's weekday offering 'Kumkum Bhagya', which replaced 'Pavitra Rishta' in the 9 PM slot, launched at 4.7 TVM and averaged at 3.3 TVM for the week. Pavitra Rishta rated 2.1 TVM in its new 6.30 PM slot.

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus fetched record viewership in Week 16 and touched 14.5 TVM, which is highest ever viewership for any fiction show (last week 13.4 TVM).

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV returned to No. 2 position with 10.5 TVM (last week 9.3 TVM).

Star Plus' Saathiya slipped one position to No. 3. The show fetched an average viewership of 9.9 TVM (last week 10.7).

Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, held No. 4 position despite drop in its viewership. The show garnered 7.7 TVM this week (last week 9.1 TVM).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continued to be in the top 5 club with an average viewership of 7.4 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).

Veera on Star Plus held its viewership and rose to No. 6 position. The show had an average viewership of 6.7 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped one position to No. 7 with an average viewership of 6.5 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).

Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV made a comeback to the top 10 club with an average viewership of 6.5 TVM (last week 5.3 TVM).

Star Plus' Saraswatichandra slipped one position to No. 9 this week. The show dropped to 6.2 TVM (last week 6.6 TVM).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus grew to 6.2 TVM but remained at No. 10 (last week 5.8 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors fetched an average viewership of 8.5 TVM in Week 16 (last week 9.1).

Colors' flagship show Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi grew to 7.3 TVM (last week 6).

Dance India Dance L'il Masters Season 3 on Zee TV became the third most watched show during the weekend and garnered 4.5 TVM (last week 3.9 TVM).

Sony's crime series, CID, fetched 4.1 TVM against last week's 4.8 TVM.

Life OK's Shapath grew to 3 TVM (last week 2.1).

Fear Files on Zee TV held its viewership at 2.7 TVM.

Sony's second crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 2.4 TVM (last week 2.6).

Hatim on Life OK fetched 2.4 TVM (last week 2.3).

Encounter on Sony dropped to 1.6 TVM (last week 2.2).
