Cadbury Perk's dramatic letter
The TVC has been created by Ogilvy & Mather. A simple letter from a son to his father makes the point how this wafer chocolate is the best

The new Cadbury Perk TV commercial uses cheeky humour and satire to tell consumers how the wafer chocolate from Cadbury is superior to the other wafer chocolate available in the country. The TVC has been created by Ogilvy & Mather.
The commercial opens with a father walking into his living room looking for his son but the son is nowhere to be seen. He is a bit surprised when he finds a letter addressed to him with the words “Dear Papa” along with a frail looking, unwrapped wafer chocolate bar. As he starts to read the letter, we see his son's face appear in the letter, adding to the drama, like the way we've seen in old movies. The son conveys his disappointment to his father through the letter...
“Dear Papa,
Today, when you gave a Perk to Sonubhaiya and this wafer chocolate to me, you opened my eyes to reality.
Sonubhaiya's Perk was 17 grams and it had 4 wafers. And my chocolate? My chocolate was 11.5 grams and it had only 3 wafers.
This difference of a wafer and 5.5 grams might not mean much to you, Papa, but this difference has shown me my real place in this house. I'm leaving this house, Papa.
Yours,
Monu.”
The father is heartbroken after reading this. Perk has made its point brilliantly.
Abhijit Avasthi, National Creative Director, Ogilvy& Mather, said, “The fact is that Perk is the best wafer chocolate in the market. We wanted to communicate this in a cheeky fashion.”
