Former Hindu CEO Arun Anant joins HT Media's Leadership team
HT Media also elevates Ashu Phake and Vishal Chaddha into its Leadership team. Rajeev Beotra, National Head - Revenue and Circulation, moves on

Arun Anant, former CEO of The Hindu, is all set to join HT Media's Leadership team later this month. He will spearhead a Senior Leadership role in Media Marketing. The details of his role, responsibility and designation will be announced shortly. Anant will be reporting to Benoy Roychowdhury.
Anant had joined The Kasturi & Sons (publisher of The Hindu) as CEO in 2012 where he was responsible for several initiatives including launch of the first ever Tamil newspaper from the group, the expansion of The Hindu in Bangalore and managing in an intensive competitive launch in Tamil Nadu.
Anant comes with over 25 years of experience in Advertising, Marketing and Media. He started his career with Lintas in the year 1988, where he worked for over 11 years in Client Servicing, Market Research and Account Planning. During this stint, he worked with several large Multinational Clients such as Unilever, Cadburys and Philips. He has worked with two other major Media groups - first as Business Head for Economic Times between 2003 and 2007 and subsequently from 2007 to 2008 he was the CEO of UTV News (later rechristened as Bloomberg TV). He also had entrepreneur stints, first with Myiris.com, a Stock Market content portal in the year 2000-2002 and later between 2008-2011 with Incvalue Advisory a consultancy focussed on Strategy and Innovation for startups.
Anant is a Chemical Engineer from BHU-IT Varanasi and he subsequently completed his Post Graduation in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
In an internal mail sent to colleagues, Rajiv Verma, CEO, HT Media said, “With his enormous experience in Media and Brand building, we are confident that Arun will take HT Media's revenue and value creation strategies to the next level.”
Besides, HT Media has elevated Ashu Phake and Vishal Chaddha into its Leadership Team. Phake will now be the National Head for Circulation and Business Head – Kolkata reporting into Rajiv Verma. Chaddha, in addition to his current leadership role in Media Marketing, will now be the Business Head – M.P & Jaipur for HT. He will report to Roychowdhury.
Additionally, Rajeev Beotra, National Head - Revenue and Circulation, has decided to move on.
