As part of The Coca-Cola Company's continuous efforts to effectively position itself to fully capture the existing and emerging growth potential in the Pacific geography, the company yesterday announced key changes in the Pacific Group. This includes renaming of the Pacific Group to Asia Pacific and some key organisational changes. These changes are effective January 1, 2014.

Ahmet C Bozer, Executive Vice-President and President, Coca-Cola International, The Coca-Cola Company, will continue to provide overall leadership to this Group. This Group will consist of three operating units:

  • Asia: comprises Greater China and Korea BU (GC&K), India & Southwest Asia BU (INSWA) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations BU (ASEAN);
  • Japan BU
  • South Pacific BU

The formation of the new Asia operating unit will further sharpen the company's focus on China, India and Indonesia – three critical markets that dominate this part of the world – and play an unparalleled role in achieving the 2020 Vision growth targets.

With this transition, Atul Singh, currently Deputy Group President, Pacific, will be appointed Group President, Asia. He will continue to report to Ahmet Bozer, President, Coca-Cola International.

Venkatesh Kini, currently Deputy BU President, India & South West Asia (INSWA), will be appointed Business Unit President, INSWA. Both Kini and Manuel Arroyo, BU President, ASEAN, will report to Atul Singh who will continue to provide oversight to GC&K BU until a successor is named at a later date.

These changes do not impact the organisation structure at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, the company-owned bottling operations in India.
