publive-imageKalyan Jewelers has launched a TVC featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Malayalam actress Manju Warrier. The campaign marks the return of Warrier to the screen and has already garnered a lot of popularity.

The TVC opens with Manju Warrier running into Amitabh Bachchan at different places. However, Bachchan ignores her and leaves each of those places. It is explained later in flashback as it shows a younger Warrier declaring her love for her beloved to her father, Amitabh Bachchan. Bachchan does not approve and asks them to leave. Phone calls go unanswered, chance meetings are left hastily.

Cut to the present: Manju is expecting and at the important moment she calls her father to drive her to the hospital. Bachchan forgets his anger as older memories come rushing back. Warrier gives birth to a lovely child, and Bachchan forgives the couple.

This is the fifth in the series of “Vishwasam Athalle Ellam” which means trust is everything in life. The company does this campaign once in a year. The ad was viewed on YouTube by 9 lakh people in the first three days of its launch.

Ramesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director, Kalyan Jewellers, said, “The success of Kalyan Jewellers is primarily based on the 'Trust' we have earned from our clients. This communication repatriates the trust platform which is not a measurable benchmark but a passionate pursuit of a personal goal.”

Commenting on the choice of actors for the ad film, VA Shrikumar, CEO and MD, Push Integrated Communications, said, “Amitab Bachchan is already our brand ambassador and had played the leading role in our last year's 'Trust' ad series. The story and the script for this year needed a strong female character and we found popular Malayalam actress Manju Warrier was ready for a comeback after a sabbatical of 13. Hence we planned for this unseen combination.”

The duration of the ad is 2 minutes and the approximate cost of production is Rs 2.5 crore.
