On Monday millions of American viewers tuned in to go 'Under the Dome' with CBS. The pilot of the new TV series, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, delivered big ratings for the network: 13.1 million viewers; the series opening acquired a 3.2 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. In India, the show starts tomorrow, June 28, at 10 PM on Big CBS Love. With the incredible opening response that the show has received for its opening episode in the US, the show, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev, promises to be a treat for Indian audiences as well.

The show's launch in the US and India forms a part of a global television event which will see at least another 200 countries airing the show – making it a global entertainment phenomenon. Going by the favourable reviews and immediate popularity, 'Under The Dome' is definitely here to stay and create a mark among audiences. Produced by Stephen King and Brian K Vaughan along with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, the shows makers were confident about its success even before the premiere.

'Under The Dome' tells the story of residents in a small town which suddenly finds itself cut off from the world by a huge dome. The show will feature some well known faces like Mike Vogel (also seen in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants), Rachelle Lefevre (also seen in the first-two movies from the Twilight series) and Colin Ford (also seen in Supernatural).
