After a stint of over six years with Leo Burnett Network, CVS (Venke) Sharma is moving on. Tomorrow, April 12, 2013, is his last day with Leo Burnett. Venke is currently based in Jakarta, Indonesia, as Executive Director and Head of Digital. Venke moved to Leo Burnett Indonesia in February last year. Before that, he was Senior VP & Director, Arc Worldwide, the digital arm of Leo Burnett India.
Venke is yet to decide on his next destination. All he said is, “There are lots of exciting challenges in the digital space.”
On his decision to move on, Venke said, “It has been an extremely satisfying and eventful tenure at Leo Burnett. Setting and scaling up the integrated marketing services arm of Leo Burnett, Arc Worldwide, in India and thereafter building the digital practice in Indonesia are highlights of my tenure with the network. Leo Burnett has provided me ample opportunities to build upon my expertise in digital and also manage initiatives of scale in shopper, direct and activation. The opportunity to move into other markets and build digital engagement models of scale for clients such as Coca-Cola, P&G, Samsung and others has been very satisfying.”
Venke is a former Indian Naval marine engineering officer and an MBA Gold medallist. He has over 16 years of experience in shaping digital future of brands across a wide range of categories. He has been associated with the Leo Burnett Network for the last six years since January 2007. He built Arc Worldwide in India as an integrated marketing services agency with focus on Digital & Shopper Marketing.
Under his leadership, Leo Burnett has emerged as a leading digital player in Indonesia with a client list that includes Coca-Cola, P&G, McDonald's, Samsung, Temposcan and Frisian Flag, to name a few.
Venke said, “The digital activation programme for McDonald's targeting moms with the 'Champions of Play - Red Ball initiative', the Coca-Cola Goodness sharing machine, the Minute Maid Pulp art campaign, the Downy Web movie series for P&G, the Social Media Center for Samsung are some noteworthy digital initiatives undertaken during my tenure in Indonesia.”
Prior to Arc, he had built Tribal DDB in India as a leading digital agency during his stint with the Mudra DDB group (2000-2006).
