publive-imageTaproot India has hired Pallavi Chakravarti as Associate Creative Director. She is the first senior hiring in Creative since Taproot India started. She will be based in Mumbai and report to Taproot co-founders Agnello Dias (Aggie) and Santosh Padhi (Paddy). .

Dentsu Inc. had recently acquired 51 per cent stake in Taproot India.

An under-30 achiever, Chakravarti joins Taproot from Grey Worldwide where she spent three years. With a total of eight years of experience, she has worked with Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT in the past. A postgraduate in Mass Communication from Symbiosis Institute, she started her career with Saatchi & Saatchi and spent three years with the agency. She had a two-year stint at JWT.

Over the years she has worked on brands like Rin, Bajaj Allianz, Nutrine, Vimal, Diageo, Ariel, Head & Shoulders, Reliance Communications, Leela Group, IndianOil, Bharat Petroleum, cleartrip.com, AXN and SOTC.

Last year, Chakravarti featured in Brand Equity's list of promising under-30 creatives. Her work won her awards at shows like Goafest and Adfest Asia Pacific. She was also judged 'Copywriter of the Year' at the Young Achiever's Awards last year. After hours, she enjoys reading, watching movies and playing Mah-jong.

“Apart from both of us there is a powerful team of 30-odd people who have played a huge role in what Taproot India is today, because we have been hand-picking people personally. Apart from great work we try and make sure the person is a great human being as well,” said Paddy. “While hiring it is very important for us to make sure the person fits into the existing culture seamlessly,” added Aggie.

On joining Taproot, Chakravarti said, “I'm really excited to work with Aggie and Paddy whose creative abilities are well known. I look forward to the new challenges and I'm sure that I would be able to contribute to the creative strength of Taproot India.”
