With 8.92 TVR ratings, the IPL 5 Final match between KKR & CSK beats last season's final match which had garnered 6.96 TVR

According to data released by TAM, the final match of IPL 5 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings has been better than IPL 4's final in both ratings and reach. The IPL 5 Final has recorded a rating of 8.92 TVR among the TG 4+ years across all-India against 6.96 TVR recorded for the final match of IPL 4 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In terms of reach, IPL 5 Final is much ahead of all the previous seasons. According to the data shared by Max, the match reached a record 55.5 million viewers against 49.3 million for IPL 4 Final, 49.4 million for IPL 3 Finale 42.9 million for IPL 2 Final and 36.3 million for IPL 1 Final.
The cumulative reach for 74 IPL 5 matches has been recorded at 163 million against 162 million for 73 matches in IPL 4. The cumulative reach was 143.7 million in IPL 3, 122.7 million in IPL 2 and 102.4 million in IPL 1 for 60, 57 and 58 games, respectively.
However, IPL 5 has not been able to match the ratings of final matches for first three seasons. The final of IPL 1 in 2008 between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals had garnered 11.7 TVR, while the final in IPL 2 in 2009 between Deccan Chargers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore recorded 10.7 TVR. The final of IPL 3 between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians had garnered the highest TVR till date of 12.85.
