The NDTV-TOYOTA Greenathon is back and in its fourth year promises to be bigger, faster, stronger and greener. Actor and Model, Milind Soman began his Green Run this morning from Delhi to Mumbai, accompanied by the Eco Task Force jawans of the Territorial Army. Starting from the capital's iconic symbol, the Qutab Minar, the run will cover 1500km in a span of 30 days, and ends at the Yashraj Studio in Mumbai on 20th May, where Greenathon 4 will have its gala annual event. The Green Run was flagged off at 8:30 am by Ms Jayanthi Natarajan, Minister for Environment and Forests. Actor Rahul Bose, Kartikeya Sarabhai, Founder-Director, CEE, Colonel Pradeep Sandhir, Commanding Officer, 132 ETF, Rajput Regiment, along with Milind's family, friends and school children on roller skates were also present to support the runners.

The Green Run started as a 24-hour run in Greenathon's first year, which then progressed to a 100 kilometer run in the second year. Milind Soman and team took a huge leap for Greenathon 3, running from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, over 550 kilometers in 15 days. The fourth edition of the Greenathon has Milind attempting a 1500 km run from Delhi to Mumbai in just 30 days.

Announcing the NDTV-Toyota Greenathon 4, Vikram Chandra, CEO, NDTV Group said, "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Priyanka and Milind for extending their support to the cause and for being a part of NDTV's initiative. Over the past 3 years NDTV-Toyota's Greenathon has garnered substantial support and funds and we hope to make this edition bigger, better and greener!"

Milind's Green Run route will take him from Delhi through Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, ending at the Yashraj Studios in Mumbai. Through the run, Milind will address key environmental concerns and participate in nature and wildlife related activities along the route such as tree planting and nature camps to spread the green message.

"Greenathon on Wheels", the NDTV Glass Bus will follow Milind during the entire run and act as a pledge wall where people can come and extend their support with signatures on the bus. There will be daily live programming with Milind and reports on the Green Run on the NDTV Network as well as on the portal green.ndtv.com. Viewers will be able to chat with Milind on the NDTV portal and also post messages for him. Milind will also reach out to many people through Radio broadcasts, with a call to come and join him and be a part of the Green Run.

Greenathon 4's Brand Ambassador Priyanka Chopra launched the fourth edition of the campaign on 9th April on the banks of Yamuna River in Agra. She was joined at the site by Abhishek Mishra, Minister of State for Protocol, UP, NDTV's Group CEO Vikram Chandra and Green Runner Milind Soman, among others, for a clean up drive to spread the green message.
