publive-imageGlobal sport lifestyle brand Puma has announced actress Chitrangada Singh as their 'running and fitness' brand ambassador at an innovative and engaging launch event. The dusky beauty who is known to be a fitness freak, flagged off Puma's most ambitious and exciting  campaign of the year 'Faastest Indian' where Puma hunts for the 'Faastest Man and Woman' who will win a chance to meet Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man, at the IAAF Diamond League Race in Zurich this September.

Puma has launched Chitrangada in their latest running and fitness campaign called 'Move Faas' which can be seen across Puma stores. Speaking about the association, Chitrangada said, “I'm thrilled to be the fitness and running brand ambassador for Puma. It is a very cool and vibrant brand, a perfect amalgamation of sport and style. It has set itself apart in the country through its unique designs, colours and approach. Fitness is gaining popularity in the country and Puma's 'Faastest Indian' will take it to the people in their unique, uber cool style.”

The campaign marks the first time Puma India has taken on board a Bollywood celebrity to endorse their range. This falls in line with the company's plans of expansion both from a geographical and an extended product offering strategy.

Rajiv Mehta, Managing Director, Puma South Asia, said, “Running and fitness is an important category for us and we're really excited to have Chitrangada Singh as our brand ambassador for the range. She comes from an army background, so sports was an integral part of her growing up days.”

2012 is the Year of Speed for Puma since the World's Faastest Man, Usain Bolt, will defend his title at the biggest sporting event, the Olympics. But since running is for everybody, the most natural step forward is to invite all of India to join the 'Faastest Indian' in the Year of Speed. The 'Faas' test will move to over 250 locations across seven Indian cities and the winners – one man and one woman -- will win a trip to meet Usain Bolt in Zurich.
