publive-imageWhat was speculated for a while has finally been formally announced. In a homecoming, Bindu Sethi is joining JWT India as Chief Strategy Officer. She was most recently the Asia Pacific Strategy Officer for Grey Worldwide, including Grey India's National Planning Director. Prior to that, she was National Planning Director for JWT India.

Sethi's appointment will further bolster the senior leadership of the agency. She brings to the agency a wealth of International and national experience from both the advertising industry and the corporate sector. At Grey, she worked with a wide range of clients -- GSK, Honda, Reliance Communication, Britannia and Ferrero. Previously, she had worked for Hindustan Unilever as General Marketing Manager – Innovation, on their hair care business in India and Thailand.

“The Indian market is becoming increasingly complex. Choice has a whole new meaning for the consumer; the strategic challenge is high,” said Sethi. “A smart perspective and smarter ideas can unravel the complexity. It is the creative solution that finally dissolves the complexity and resolves the choice preferences of consumers. Joining JWT puts me in a position to take on these marketing challenges.”

JWT India has actively invested in new senior talent in recent months to help scale up the level of services provided to clients. This month, JWT announced the hiring of Bobby Pawar as Chief Creative Officer and Managing Partner. Earlier this year, the agency had hired Sanjeev Bhargava as Managing Partner in Delhi and Max Hegerman as Head of Digital.

“We are moving decisively to build our bench strength, and bringing Bindu into this role is an important part of that strategy,” commented Colvyn Harris, CEO of JWT India. “We are pleased to have Bindu back in the fold. We know from experience that she's a valuable asset, and she's gone on to grow her skills at the national and Asia Pacific level. Now she brings all that experience back to us, and our clients. Bindu's mandate will be to develop and integrate our strategic planning capabilities and help deliver on our vision to be a creative powerhouse as we create the best value proposition for our clients.”

“Bindu is extremely talented and I am delighted to have her back on board,” said Michael Maedel, President of JWT Asia Pacific. “She brings depth, experience and insight to this critical leadership role. Given India is an increasingly important market for many of our global clients, this appointment is both vital and timely.”

Sethi will be supported by Atika Malik and Mythili Chandrasekhar, both Senior VP & Executive Planning Directors, and Pinaki Bhattacharya, Shaziya Khan and Navonil Chatterjee, all Executive Planning Directors, in the effort to create opportunities for brands, build deep consumer sensitivity, and partner the creative team in the agency's quest for high quality ideas and strong client relationships.
