publive-imageThe Kancil Awards 2011, to be held in Malaysia from November 23 to 25, 2011, has invited Santosh Padhi, popularly known as Paddy, Chief Creative Officer and Co-founder, Taproot India, to judge the awards. He is among four foreign top creative minds from Asia who have been invited to be on the jury with the objective of raising the standard of the local awards. The annual awards event is organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (AAAA).

Elated at the honour, Paddy said, “I am judging this kind of awards for the first time. Last year I was supposes to go to Sri Lanka to judge the 'Chilli Awards', which is similar to the Malaysian award event, but unfortunately couldn't make it. I think before picking the idea it will be very important for me to understand the local/cultural insight or connect, as most of the work will have a cultural connect, and with other local juries in the room, it can be handy at times to take me through the cultural hurdle. I am also looking forward to learn a few hardcore Malaysian things in the coming week.”

In the past, very few Indians have been invited to be on the jury of Kancil Awards, seen as the most prestigious and largest advertising awards competition in Malaysia. Started in 1978, the awards were initially called '6As'. It was rechristened in 1995 as Kancil Awards.
