Barclays Premier League kickstarts this weekend; ESPN HD will showcase BPL in HD for the first time ever.

New season of the world's most exciting football league, the Barclays Premier League, starts this Saturday, August 13, 2011 LIVE & Exclusive on ESPN STAR Sports, Asia's leading sports broadcaster. The Barclays Premiership is regarded as the elite club competition in world football and is the flagship of the game's governing body in England- the Football Association (FA).

The Barclays Premier League (EPL) 2011-2012 season on ESPN STAR Sports will showcase legendary clubs of Europe like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & Manchester United clashing for English Football supremacy. Manchester United are the defending champions, having won their 19th league title the previous season. A total of 20 teams will contest the league, seventeen returning from the 2010–11 season and three promoted from the Football League Championship.

Like every other season even this season is full of promise to some of the most exciting and nail biting finishes for the audience from the most prestigious English football tournament. The BPL season will start on 13 August 2011 and end on 13 May 2012.
