KBC in 2011 is geared with a faster and innovative format that will surely take audiences to a new high. It is again that spine-tingling moment for India's iconic host, Amitabh Bachchan, to stand on the podium and declare to the world: “Maine Yahaan Hindustan Dekha Hai!” while ushering in another season of KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI to your homes and make knowledge and dreams mesh in an unbeatable combination!

Produced by Big Synergy Media Ltd, this season of KBC will launch at a new slot – 8.30 pm, Monday to Thursday. KBC this season for 14 weeks will come with special episodes and special themes. The new season is scheduled to start on 15th August and will also have a host of fresh and innovative developments guaranteed to enhance the participating and viewing experience.  Along with a new set with new design elements that add sparkle to the fabulous show, we will see Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in a new look and his wardrobe has been designed by the famous fashion designer Rohit Bal.

The current season of KBC will reflect a variety of new cities. Every strata of society was included in the ambit of KBC auditions; more cities and more aspirants with new audition centres like Ludhiana, Patna, Kolhapur and others. In addition, KBC 2011 will also see additional innovations incorporated in the game like Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot, Manchaha Padav in the money tree and special episodes like Jodi special and School special etc.

Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot is an attempt to make the game more interactive by taking it to everyone who wanted to be on the hot seat. According to the new format, in every episode the host will ask a question to the viewers sitting at home. From all the correct entries, one person will be randomly selected by the computer and the lucky winner will be called by the host and invited to play for the jackpot amount of 2 lac rupees, which will gtive the winner a chance to win another 2 lacs by answering the jackpot question. The winner will have an option of playing for the jackpot question or retain the 1 lac that he has already won. If the winner chooses to play for the jackpot and answers the question correctly, he will win 3 lacs, but if he loses, he gets nothing. However, the 1 lac that he will lose will be carried forward to the next day winners' kitty and so on.

Manchaha Padav is the option given to the contestant to choose a safe haven on the money tree which has 13 levels, the contestant has all the 4 Life lines available from the start and he can position the safe haven wherever he wants, but the questions will be timed at 45 seconds until the contestant reaches that level they have chosen.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch of KBC Season 5, Manjit Singh, CEO, Multi Screen Media said, “2011 has been a very good year for SET. With a new leadership, a slew of promising shows, I am extremely bullish on SET's growth and am pleased to launch KBC 2011. We are confident KBC will play a pivotal role in accelerating the channel's growth path and take it to the next level. We are also delighted to continue our association with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and I am sure this year KBC, like last year, will create many viewership and programming milestones.”

N.P Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media added, “KBC remains a gateway for family audience on SET, and perhaps the only show which is consumed equally across demography and geography. KBC 2011 will launch at a new slot of 8.30 pm. We are positive KBC in this new slot will expand and bring huge audience from across smaller cities and towns also. In addition, this season of KBC will be more gratifying and innovative – all these along with the magic of Mr. Bachchan surely will entertain the nation every week night for 14 weeks starting 15th August.”

Added Sneha Rajani, Senior EVP and Business Head, Sony Entertainment Television, "Last year KBC was built on the philosophy 'Koi Bhi Sawaal Chota Nahin Hota and this year we are taking the thought forward with Koi Bhi Insaan Chota Nahin Hota'. KBC is not just a show but a phenomena. KBC serves as a mirror to society, reflecting the ambitions and aspirations of today's India. No other show portrays the Indian dreams as KBC does and the current season also will be a melting pot of knowledge and aspirations driven by amazing contestants from every corner of this great nation. Each episode will see a miniature India in all its glory, variety and colour. We are once again delighted to bring the iconic show along with its iconic host – the one and only Mr. Amitabh Bachchan to all the zillion fans.”

Speaking on the occasion, Siddhartha Basu, CMD, Big Synergy Media Ltd said, "Its back. Bigger and better, with a deeper connect with keen contestants from the heart of India. BIG Synergy is delighted to continue the golden run of this flagship show as its producers for over a decade. KBC has never been just another quiz show, though a knowledge game has seldom held so many in its thrall anywhere in the world for so long. It's as much about the human story. Both knowledge and drama step into a higher gear this year, with a more daring access to a 5 crore top prize, a tempting jackpot for a home viewer in every episode, and a rich mix of contestants culled from all over the country."

So get ready for KBC to roll, kyunki, “KOI BHI INSAAN CHOTA NAHIN HOTA.”
