Pappan Majumdar joins Star India

He comes in here from Viacom18 to head the National Sales for NDTV Profit.

Pappan Majumdar, who joined Vaicom18 in the beginning of the last year as National Head – Property Sales for Colors, has joined Star India. He is heading National Sales for NDTV Profit. For the record, last month NDTV joined hands with Star India for the sales of its three channels, NDTV 24x7, NDTV India and NDTV Profit.

Pappan will be based out of Gurgaon and report into Guneet Anand in Mumbai.

For Pappan, this is the second stint with Star India group. Before joining Viacom18, He was Vice President - Ad Sales at National Geographic Channel. He joined NGC in July 2004 and was based out of Delhi.

Pappan brings close to 15 years of experience with him. Before joining National Geographic Channel in July 2004, he worked with MTV Networks for 5 years. Pappan started his career with The Times of India where he spent more than 3 years.
