publive-imageIn an incredible finish to the dream run which started on April 8th on MAX, the official broadcaster of the DLF IPL, the season 4 has reached a new high in terms of net reach.

According to TAM, the DLF IPL 2011 has garnered an incredible consolidated reach of 160.2 million viewers. Compared to previous seasons, MAX had achieved a reach of 102.4, 122.7 and 143.7 million viewers respectively in season 1, 2 and 3 of the DLF IPL on an all India level.

Even in terms of women and children viewership the phenomenal success continues with 73.1 million women and 37.2 million children tuning in this season. Compared to the earlier DLF IPL seasons MAX reached out to 46.8, 56.2 and 65.5 million women and 22.2, 27.9 and 33.0 million children reached, respectively.

Says Sneha Rajani, Senior Executive Vice President and Business Head, “We are extremely thrilled to see this fantastic culmination to the DLF IPL season 4. It has truly lived up to its name of being the biggest family entertainer by reaching out to more than 160 Million people in the country.”

But, IPL 4 has struggled to hold the eyeballs this season. While the average TVR has hardly touched 4, the finale between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore garnered 6.96 points. However, the viewership rating of season 4 finale is much below than the finals of previous seasons. The finale of IPL 1 in 2008 between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals had garnered 11.7 TVR, while the finale of IPL 2 in 2009 between Deccan Chargers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore recorded 10.7 TVR. Last year, the finale of IPL 3 between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians had garnered the highest TVR of 12.85.
