The season four of IPL is being termed as the weakest of all the previous seasons in terms of average TRPs in the later stages of its league matches. And the benefit has been automatically extended to the Hindi GECs. India's No.1 Hindi general entertainment channel STAR Plus has claimed to remain untouched by the IPL this year as well.

The channel continues to retain its stronghold as the most popular Hindi GEC in India. Star Plus has witnessed an increase in channel share in both Male and Female TG by 16.6% and 20% respectively (pre and post IPL) thereby proving yet again that its content enjoys greater viewer attention than IPL.

According to the latest viewership data released by TAM, Star Plus has garnered more eyeballs than MAX. The channel has recorded 325 GRPs in week 20 of TAM 2011 while MAX has managed to record 306 GRPs. The No.2 Hindi GEC Colors and No.3 GEC Zee TV have recorded 226 and 183 GRPs respectively.
