OAC 2011 returns with a progressive agenda for the OOH industry

Seventh edition of show also includes an expanded scope in the award categories.

publive-imageOAC (Outdoor Advertising Convention), the premier expo, convention and awards event for the OOH advertising industry in the region, will return in June with its seventh edition in Mumbai. This year Pioneer Publicity joins in as the title sponsor for OAC 2011 and Prakash Arts Corporation comes on board as the associate sponsor. To be held at Hotel Renaissance, Powai, Mumbai on 17th 18th June 2011, OAC 2011 has been conceptualised around the theme 'Think Tomorrow. Today'. The event will bring the industry together to discuss the opportunities ahead and the best courses of action to move the industry forward as a whole.

Commenting on the choice of the theme, Sachin Jante, Chief Content Officer & Marketing Strategist, VJ Media Works Pvt. Ltd., says, “Every year we speak with a representative sample from the OOH industry before deciding on a focal agenda for the event. This year the feedback we received was largely to move away from the operational issues and to focus on developing a strategic and achievable outlook for the industry. So this year the efforts will be channelized to understand and assimilate the opinions of all interest groups of the industry and reach a consensus with regards the best possible direction ahead.”

Spread over two days the convention at OAC 2011 will bring together media concessionaires, specialist agencies, brands, media & creative agencies, research specialists, printers and regulators to deliberate on a cohesive and profitable agenda for the industry. OAA (Outdoor Advertising Awards) the awards module for the industry has also been reworked to bring more focus to certain existing categories as well as the inclusion of new categories like Single Execution and Lifetime Achievement.

“We have made a few structural changes in some categories that recognise contributions of media concessionaires to provide a more practical basis for identifying the winners. We have also created a separate category for single execution OOH work so as to avoid them compared with projects with larger scale & scope. Also, for the first time we are including a Lifetime Achievement Award, a non-entry category where individuals from any sub-domain the in the OOH industry will be honoured for their contributions.” Jante explains.

The Expo at OAC 2011 will continue its endeavour of delivering focussed and effective exposure to participants with its limited footprint and strategic location within the event premises.

VJ Media Works Pvt. Ltd. is a media company with interests in publishing, and industry events related to the marketing communications and retail businesses.
