publive-imageNDTV Good Times, India's first lifestyle channel, announced it's first-ever food awards at a high profile event at Westin in Gurgaon on December 3.

In an aureate evening, NDTV Good Times honoured the top restaurants, restaurateurs and chefs, from all across the nation. The guests at the gala event included food enthusiasts, restaurant owners, chefs and other high profile guests coming together from all parts of the country.

Westin resonated with presence of celebrated faces like Prahlad Kakkar, Seema Goswami, Rahul Akerkar, Shiv Karan Singh, AD Singh, Radhika Chanana & Karan Chanana, Suhel Seth, Rashmi Singh, Vinod Dua, Harmeet Bajaj, Zeba Koheli, Ramneek Pantal, Anupama Dayal, Abraham & Thakore, Rina Dhaka, Magandeep Singh, Priya Paul, Timsy Anand and Nakul Anand.

Among the many highlights of the event was a special musical performance by Shafqat Amanat Ali, a famous Sufi singer from Pakistan and Highway men, Rocky & Mayur kept the audience in splits with their humour and everlasting camaraderie.

The event also gave a sneak peak of the brand new book that is being released on the very successful show- Highway On My Plate. From the invitation cards to the on-ground look and feel, trophies, the give-away gifts for the guests, everything was HOMP style.

The aim of our Food Awards is to celebrate this insatiable appetite for food and acknowledge those who delight us with their extraordinary culinary efforts.”

Speaking on the occasion, Monica Narula, Vice President Programming, NDTV Good Times said, “We are very proud to host the first pan Indian food awards and the response from the restaurants and restrauteurs has been very encouraging, it will probably be the "yummiest" evening the country has seen in a long time with heavy weights from the restaurant business, top foodies, top chefs and not to mention our very own NDTV Good Times jury all sharing the same space. We aim to make this the most sought after food event in the country”

The winners were selected by a highly qualified jury comprised of NDTV award winning anchor Vinod Dua, famous Chef Ritu Dalmia, Food impresario Marut Sikka, Anchor & Chef Aditya Bal, Restaurateur & chef Vicky Ratnani and Highway Stars Rocky & Mayur. The validation process was undertaken by Ernst &Young.

The nomination list was developed from a universe of 1000 restaurants by evaluating various journals/magazines in the public domain. The short listed restaurants were further assessed on the basis of their unique propositions. The cities covered in the analysis were: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata. The parameters on which the restaurants were rated: Food, Service, Ambience and Key specialty of restaurant/bar.

Best Regional: Oh! Calcutta, Kolkata

Best European: Orient Express, Taj Palace Hotel

Best Bar: Smoke House Grill, Smoke House Chain

Best Dhaba: Chilka

Best Coastal: Trishna, Independent

Best Desserts & Coffee: Atrium

Best Asian: Thai Pavallion, Taj President

Best Debut - Indigo cafe

All-time Favorites: The Karim's, Karim's Hotel Chain
