IRS Q3 2010: Top 10 Dailies In Karnataka

Most of the top 10 dailies in Karnataka have surged ahead as per the average issue readership (AIR) data released for the Q3 of IRS 2010.

publive-imageThe No.1 Kannada daily 'Vijay Karnataka' has strengthened its leadership position by adding 4.8% more readers in the current survey. It has recorded and AIR of 34.25 lakh in IRS Q3 2010 as compared to 32.68 lakh in the previous quarter.

'Prajavani' has strengthened its position at No.2 by increasing its AIR to 29.10 lakh. In Q2 the paper had AIR of 25.65 lakh. By adding 3.45 lakh readers, the paper has shown phenomenal growth of 13.5% in current survey. In Q2 also Prajavani had added 3.24 lakh readers.

The 3rd major player in Karnataka, 'Samyukta Karnataka' has also registered a huge growth of 14.9% in the third quarter of IRS 2010. Its current AIR stands at 11.31 lakh as compared to 9.84 lakh in IRS Q2 2010. In Q2 also 'Samyukta Karnataka' had added 1.72 lakh readers.

'Kannada Prabha' has gained 2.53 lakh more readers in the third quarter of IRS 2010. Remaining at No.4, it has an AIR of 11.15 lakh as compared to 8.62 lakh in the last survey findings. The paper has grown by whooping 29.4% in the Q3 of IRS 2010.

'Udayavani' is at 5th spot with 8.90 lakh readers in the state. In Q2 of IRS 2010 the paper had AIR of 7.94 lakh. The paper has grown by 12.9% in current quarter

Like other parts of the country, 'The Times of India' has performed well in Karnataka too and has added 21,000 readers in the third quarter of IRS 2010. The English daily has recorded and AIR of 4.66 lakh in the current survey as compared to 4.45 lakh in Q2 of IRS 2010. The English daily stand firms at 6th position.

At No.7, 'Deccan Herald' has strengthened its position by gaining 2.2% readers in the current survey findings. It has recorded an AIR of 3.14 lakh as compared to 3.07 lakh in IRS Q1 2010.

'Sanjavani' is at No.8 with AIR of 2.15 lakh. The paper has added 4,000 new readers in the current survey and has grown by 1.9%.

At no. 9 is 'Banglore Mirror', the English daily has joined the list of top ten dailies with 1.16 lakh readers. The paper has gained 46,000 new readers in the current survey and has shown growth of 65.7% over the last quarter results.

'Deccan Chronicle' also joins the bug league with 1.10 lakh readers. The paper has lost 6,000 readers in the current survey and slipped down to 10th spot.

'Tarun Bharat' and 'DNA' couldn't make to the list of top ten dailies in Q3 of IRS 2010.
