IRS Q3 2010: Top 10 Dailies In Jharkhand

All top publications see more green in Jharkhand; Hindustan maintains high growth.

publive-imageLike Bihar, Hindi daily 'Hindustan' rules Jharkhand also. Writing a growth story from past 4 surveys, 'Hindustan' has again added 11% (1.61 lakh) readers in IRS Q3 2010. It has recorded an AIR of 16.30 lakh in the current survey as compared to 14.69 lakh in Q2, 13.53 lakh in Q1 and 11.96 lakh in IRS R2 2009.

The second largest read daily in Jharkhand is 'Prabhat Khabar' which has also registered considerable growth in IRS Q3 2010 and added 1.32 lakh. The Hindi daily has an AIR of 11.33 lakh in this quarter as compared to 10.01 lakh in last survey. It had added 20,000 readers in Q2 while lost 22,000 readers in Q1.

'Dainik Jagran', the No.3 daily in the state has registered a marginal growth of 3% in third quarter of IRS 2010. By adding 3,000 readers, it has recorded an AIR of 8.23 lakh as compared to 8.20 lakh in the last survey.

publive-imageLike Bihar, 'Aj' is growing in Jharkhand too and the paper has grown by 52% in IRS Q3 2010. Its current AIR stands at 1.29 lakh as compared to 85,000 in previous quarter.

English daily 'The Telegraph' holds the fifth spot with an AIR of 74,000 in IRS Q3 2010 as compared to 75,000 in previous quarter.

Adding 2,000 readers in this round of survey, 'Hindustan Times' remains at No.6 with an AIR of 70,000 in IRS Q3 2010.

At No.7 in Jharkhand is English daily 'The Times of India' which has recorded an AIR of 69,000 in IRS Q3 2010 as compared to 62,000 in last survey.

Bangla daily 'Anand Bazar Patrika' holds the 8th spot with AIR of 30,000 in IRS Q3 2010 as compared to 26,000 in last survey.

The business daily 'The Economic Times' (English) is on 9th spot with AIR of 22,000 respectively.

'The Hindu' has also grown in the state to record an AIR of 14,000 in IRS Q3 2010.
