publive-imageStar TV has launched its channels in South Arica on Top TV - the new pay Television service. This makes Star the first Indian television network to launch four channels in South Arica.

Launched on 1st November, Top Star will consist of four brand new channels in the South African market. Star Plus (Hindi general entertainment channel), Star Gold (Bollywood movies channel), Vijay (Tamil general entertainment channel) as well as Channel V (Music channel).

Announcing the launch, Rajan Singh - Executive Vice President, Star International says, “Star is very proud to bring top quality programming from India for Tamil and Hindi viewers in South Africa. We are very excited to join hands with Top TV and be the first Indian television network to launch our channels in South Africa.”

Ian Woodrow, General Manager of Channels at Top TV said, “We are very excited to be able to introduce India's most popular channels to our platform. This is a huge coup for us in terms of the varied, innovative and engaging programming these channels will bring to the TopTV subscriber.”

From 1 November until the end of December, the new bouquet will be free for all Top-TV subscribers. As from 1 January 2011, the entire bouquet will be available at the low cost of R60 per month.
