publive-imageMediology Software, which provides software-as-a-service solution on AWS cloud that enable print publishers to digitize their print content, add social media interactivity and distribute the content via web and mobile devices, has been named as one of the seven global finalists of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Start-Up Challenge 2010. Into its fourth year, the competition seeks to honour start-ups using AWS's offerings for excellence and innovation in building their businesses. Amazon Web Services (AWS) has recently announced the four startups from Asia Pacific that made it as far as the semifinals of their annual Start-Up Challenge.

Mediology reached the semi-finals of the challenge along with 14 other companies, in a contest which was open to 22 different countries across Americas, Asia, and Europe.

According to an official statement by AWS, “All contestants are evaluated based on the originality and creativity, the likelihood of long-term success and scalability, how well they address a need in the marketplace, and the degree to which the business implements and integrates the pay-as-you-go technology platform and services offered by AWS.”

Elaborating on the prize money, the statement says, “Regional semi-finalists will receive US$2,500 in AWS service credits.  Global finalists will receive US$10,000 in AWS service credits and a trip to Palo Alto, CA., U.S.A for the final judging and awards ceremony.  The global grand prize winner will be awarded US$50,000 cash, US$50,000 in AWS service credits, premium support services and technical mentorship from Amazon Web Services for one year, as well as a possible investment offer from Amazon.”

The grand finals are scheduled for December 8, will be held in Palo Alto, CA, USA, and its proceedings will be streamed live across the Web.
